This notice explains what we do with the information you give us when you send us an inventory list or sell us hardware. Data Center Buyback is operated by Magoon LLC, 1223 Montego Ct, Elk Grove Village, IL 60007, USA.
What we collect
- Inquiry details — your name, company, work email, phone number where you give one, pickup ZIP code, the inventory list you send and anything you attach to it.
- Transaction details — where a sale goes ahead: the agreed list and price, pickup address, banking details for payment, and our purchase records.
- Identification — before we pay for hardware we take a copy of photo ID for the person or business selling to us, and confirmation of authority to sell.
- Technical information — the IP address and browser used to submit the form, recorded alongside the inquiry.
Why we use it

Checking who we are buying from is a proportionate step for a business that pays out for hardware. We keep identification separate from everything else and only for as long as set out below. Requiring ID is our own policy, not a legal requirement imposed on you.
How long we keep it
- Transaction and payment records — seven years, for tax and accounting purposes.
- Identification documents — twelve months from the date of the transaction, then deleted.
- Inquiries that do not lead to a sale — twelve months, then deleted.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information and we do not use it for advertising. We share it only with:
- the carrier collecting from you, with the pickup address, contact name and dock details;
- our email provider, which delivers the messages sent by the form on this site;
- our bank and accountant, and any government agency we are required to give it to.
Our hosting and email providers may process data outside the United States.
Your choices
Wherever you are, you can email hello@datacenterbuyback.com to ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We will respond within 30 days. We may need to keep transaction records for the retention period above even after a deletion request, because tax and accounting rules require it.
Cookies
This site sets one cookie, a PHP session cookie, which exists so the form can check that a submission came from a page we served. It carries no tracking data, expires when you close your browser, and there is no analytics or advertising tag anywhere on the site.
Children
This is a business-to-business site. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes
If we change this notice we will update the date at the top of the page.
