3.5" nearline
SAS and SATA 7.2K, 4TB through 24TB. Seagate Exos, WD Ultrastar, HGST He-series and Toshiba MG. The volume of most decommissions.
SAS, SATA, nearline and 10K/15K — 600GB through 24TB. Ten drives out of one array or a pallet out of a decommission, the process is the same.
Whole shelves, partial refreshes, or the drives left over once you have pulled what you are keeping.
SAS and SATA 7.2K, 4TB through 24TB. Seagate Exos, WD Ultrastar, HGST He-series and Toshiba MG. The volume of most decommissions.
10K and 15K SAS, 300GB through 2.4TB. Still in demand for older arrays and blade chassis that will not take anything else.
Dell, HPE, NetApp, Lenovo, IBM and Cisco firmware. We buy these as readily as generic units — tell us which you have.
Leave them in. Sleds, caddies and trays add to the line, and drives travel far better mounted than loose in a box.
Populated JBODs and disk shelves — we will price the shelf and the drives separately, then tell you which is worth more as a set.
A shelf of one model prices better per drive than forty mixed, but we buy mixed lots too. Send exactly what you have.
We price each drive on what it is worth back in service. Specification drives the offer — nothing here is weighed.
The single biggest factor, and it is not linear. The high-capacity nearline sizes carry the strongest per-drive numbers.
SAS and SATA price differently for the same capacity, and which one is ahead moves with what the market is short of.
Hours matter. A drive with modest hours on it is worth meaningfully more than the same model run hard for years — tell us if you know.
Small parts, real money. A drive that arrives in its Dell or HPE caddy is worth more than a bare one.
3.5" nearline and 2.5" 10K/15K serve different buyers. Both sell; they just price on different curves.
Forty matched drives out of one shelf price better per drive than forty of assorted models and ages.
The route changes with the size of the lot. What does not change is that we pay for it and you approve the number first.
Under a pallet, we email you a prepaid parcel label. Box the drives in their caddies or in anti-static sleeves, pad the carton, and hand it over. Nothing to pay and nothing to arrange.
We supply pallets, wrap and straps, book the carrier, and issue the bill of lading ahead of pickup. Insured in transit at the agreed offer value.
Leave the drives in the shelf if that is easier — we will tell you whether to ship it populated or pull them, and it is usually populated.
Drives are fragile in ways they do not look. Never loose in a box, never stacked bare. Caddies, original trays or sleeves with padding between layers.
We check every shipment against the agreed list on arrival, tell you what we found, and pay by ACH — typically the same business day it lands.
Caddied, layered, padded
No. Ten drives out of one array is a normal order for us, and so is a pallet of them. Small lots ship on a prepaid label we send you; larger lots go by freight that we arrange and pay for. The offer process is identical either way.
Per drive, on what it is worth back in service — capacity, interface, form factor, spindle speed, hours on it, and whether it comes with a caddy. Nothing is weighed, and nothing is averaged across the lot.
Because two drives with the same capacity on the label can be worth very different money once the interface, the hours and the caddy are taken into account. Any published figure would be wrong for most people. Send the list and we'll price your actual drives.
Yes, and we'd rather you left them in. Caddies, sleds and trays add to the line rather than getting in the way, and drives travel better in them.
Yes — Dell, HPE, NetApp, Lenovo, IBM and Cisco-badged drives are all fine, as are generic Seagate, WD, HGST and Toshiba units. Tell us which you have; the badge does move the number in both directions depending on the model.
No. We buy drives that were working when they came out of service, because we sell them on to be used again. If some of the lot is questionable, say so when you send the list rather than shipping it and hoping.
ACH once the shipment is checked in against the agreed list, typically the same business day it lands. Wire on request. We don't pay cash, and ID is required prior to payment.
Send the list — any quantity, anywhere in the USA. Written per-drive offer back within one business day.
